I'm Emma Cooksey, the host of the 'Sleep Apnea Stories' podcast.
I went undiagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea for more than 10 years. One day, at the age of 30, I was driving home with my new baby sleeping in the back seat. I fell asleep at the wheel and narrowly avoided a collision. That was the "wake-up call" I needed to finally push for a diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea.
I started a podcast called "Sleep Apnea Stories" in the summer of 2020. My goal with the podcast is to provide a platform for people to share their stories and to give followers the information they need to research new treatment options or lifestyle choices to help their sleep apnea. If you didn't already watch my video '3 Tips to Better Sleep with Obstructive Sleep Apnea', you can get it here. You can browse episodes of the podcast here.
In January 2022, I joined the board of Project Sleep, a wonderful nonprofit raising awareness about sleep health and sleep disorders. More on my patient advocacy here.
I'm always interested to hear from people with sleep apnea, it's my favorite thing! Drop me at email at firstname.lastname@example.org any time. I'm glad you're here!
Podcast Guests: I'm always looking for interesting people to interview who are living with sleep apnea, and the experts who treat them.
Sponsorship: If you are a company interested in sponsoring episodes of the podcast or want to explore working together on social media content, get in touch.
I'm always looking for new and exciting opportunities. If you have a suggestion on how we could work together, get in touch! I love speaking and writing from a patient perspective, especially if I can raise awareness about sleep apnea.
